Get Involved. Volunteer at Temple.

Temple De Hirsch Sinai welcomes volunteers who are able to give of their time and energies to help keep Temple functioning. Below are some of our ongoing volunteer opportunities; if you have another way you’d like to contribute, please let us know. 

Current Temple Volunteer Opportunities. Get involved and volunteer through the Tikkun Olam Council (TOC). TOC plans social action projects.

Volunteer at our WRJ Gift Shop. The WRJ Gift Shop is looking for volunteers who like working in sales and working with people.

Join the new Get Connected ~ Stay Connected Committee.
With keen new leadership, this Committee has broadened its scope and now focuses on the entire membership lifecycle. Be part of this dynamic group to support Temple’s important effort to reach new members, help immerse newer families, and positively maintain connection with all members. Become a Shabbat Greeter! Welcome fellow congregants at Friday evening Shabbat services. Greeters needed at both locations. Contact Lisa.

Volunteer in the Homeless Women’s Shelter. Overnight volunteers retrieve 10 homeless women from a day shelter, bring them to Temple, serve a snack at night and breakfast in the morning and finally, return the women to the day shelter. Contact Kim.

Volunteer at our Temple Library. Volunteers help restock shelves, check out books and assist on other ongoing projects.Contact Toby at 206.315.7398.

Get Involved during Mitzvah Days. A congregation-wide community service event, where hundreds of volunteers with loving hands and willing hearts go out into the community to make a difference. Contact tikkunolam@tdhs-nw.org.

Volunteer on our Caring Community Committee. Volunteers provide meals, wheels and other services for Temple members in need. Contact Gayle.

Join Hazmanah. Join a community-organizing committee working on local issues of concern both at Temple and in the Community. Contact tikkunolam@tdhs-nw.org.

Join the Worship Committee. Committee members meet monthly to plan and coordinate Temple’s religious worship experiences. Contact Laurie at 206.323.8636.

Join the Finance Committee. Committee members meet monthly to review and advise on matters of finaincial concern and oversight. Contact Neil at 425.417.6030.

Become an Event or Program Volunteer. Event volunteers assist staff for planning before and help during events, programs, services and fundraisers. Contact Rebecca.
