The Tribe (22-35)
Are you looking to be part of a warm, inclusive Jewish community that welcomes all people –
Seattle natives and new transplants, straight and gay, single and coupled off?
Interested in learning more about the religion you grew up with or the Judaism that you have chosen later in life?
Want to be part of a synagogue that is deeply committed to the lives of young Jewish adults?

Membership for young adults (22-35) is attractive. Rock Shabbat and 4th Shabbat services offer engaging worship opportunities rather different than “your parents congregation.” The Tribe, our best-in-state congregational nexus of young adult programming, offers member-driven social, social action, and educational programs throughout the month. Adult educational opportunities are exciting, ongoing, and designed to meet a variety of interests and knowledge levels. All of our rabbis are available for life-cycle events and to just grab coffee and chat about the Jewish you. Temple De Hirsch Sinai strives to keep its finger on the pulse of the Seattle Jewish community and to remain vibrant and attractive to young adults.
Membership for young adults is attainable. The congregational leadership, rabbis, and staff at Temple De Hirsch Sinai recognize the very real financial pressures often lived by our young adult members. College loans, the cost of living in a major metropolitan area, and the sometimes struggle to find meaningful – and gainful – employment make synagogue membership seem like a luxury item many cannot afford. This need not be the case. We invite you to join Temple, to live and grow as a Jewish individual while strengthening the entire Jewish community, for the cost of two lattes a week. Join us as a full member for $360 a year.
Membership for young adults is transparent.Choosing to affiliate with any organization is a decision, and we want to make sure you have all of the information to make the best decision possible. Yes, we know that you are likely to switch jobs, transfer, or move while a young adult member at Temple De Hirsch Sinai. Simply forward us the address of the out-of-state congregation you wish to join and we will forward a portion of your dues! Yes, this $360 membership level is just an introductory rate. The yesod level of dues, those necessary to balance the budget, are well over $2,000 per year. You might not be there now, and you might not be there in ten years, but you should expect to have a conversation every now and then about your happiness and involvement with Temple and whether your financial contribution can increase. Yes, you can be billed all at once or in monthly installments – and someday soon you will be able to do it all online. We are excited about this opportunity and hope you will contact us with any additional questions you may have.
