CONNECT TO TORAH & EACH OTHER
Project 613 encompasses much more than the writing of the Torah. To enrich and deepen the experience, Temple De Hirsch Sinai’s 2007-2008 program year has been specifically tailored to “all things Torah.”
A wide variety of classes, lectures, events and informal learning opportunities are planned for members of all ages.
No matter the level of Jewish knowledge or practice, there is something for everyone.
Together, we will explore the beauty, power and meaning of the Torah’s words and learn what the Torah has to say to us as Jews in today’s world.
Here is a sampling of what’s in store for our “Year of the Torah”:

SPEED DRASHING Fall in love with the Torah in 10 minutes or less Friday, April 11 Seattle 6:00 p.m Rock Shabbat followed by light supper and “Speed Drashing” at 7:00 p.m.
Built on the model of “Speed Dating” - Speed Drashing will introduce you to three different parasha or Torah portions each evening. Each evening three “speed drashers” will give a five minute interpretation of a portion that is meaningful to them. After each drash, we’ll discuss the surface and deeper meanings of each portion. Journey with us as we start with Genesis in December and end with Deuteronomy in April. If you are interested in becoming a “speed drasher” and learning how easy it is to unpack a Torah portion, there will be a class offered on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. in Seattle by Rabbi Daniel Septimus.
