Spiritual Event

Parashat Pinhas-E-Tidings

Imagine how our ancestors felt when they stood at Mount Sinai with 60 0,000 fellow Israelites. The size and power of the crowd must have been truly impressive. If there once again comes a time when we are in such an awe-inspiring moment with 600,000 Jews, the rabbis devised a peculiar blessing-we say, "Praised are You, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, wise in secrets." Why do we praise God for knowing secrets when we are standing in such an amazing place with 600,000 Jews? What secrets are the rabbis referring to? Click here to read more. arrow

This week’s Torah Portion:

Haftarah: Isaiah 1:1 - 1:27

It's the Economy Your Holiness!
ask the rabbi

Please note: We didn't get a question for the Rabbi's this week, so we've posted, for your enjoyment, a portion of Rabbi Weiner's Blog: Good God For Us.

On his Summer Hope Tour 2009, President Obama is wending his way ‘round the world, with a notable stop in V-Town for a sit down with Benedict the Beneficent. Let’s hope the Commander in Change receives a warmer, less ideologically fraught welcome than he did from American bishops during the Notre Dame commencement. Click to read more. arrow
