 SISTERHOOD BOOK CLUB -
Thank you so much to all who responded to my questions about the future of the book club. You overwhelmingly preferred Sunday afternoons, every 6-8 weeks, and keeping the Jewish theme, with an occasional non-Jewish book added to the mix. OK, great. That is what I have done. I made the meetings at 2:00pm on Sundays, so hostesses won't feel obligated to serve lunch. We can always change the time later on. I will host the September meeting. Please let me know if you want to host a meeting. Email Joyce Bender with any questions or to RSVP.
Here is the new schedule as it stands so far:
 Sunday, February 3, 2008: "Snowflower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See. Poignantly beautiful story about two Chinese girls who are placed together by their families to be lifelong best friends, or "old sames" They communicate with each other in a secret language only known to women, written on a fan.
